Fury vs Joshua Set for December 11 Showdown in Cardiff

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring after their long-awaited heavyweight showdown was officially confirmed for December 11 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

The all-British clash, which has been discussed for more than a decade, was formally announced by Saudi boxing powerbroker Turki Al-Sheikh on Thursday, ending months of uncertainty over the date and venue. Netflix will broadcast the fight globally.

The Principality Stadium also confirmed that Cardiff will host the event, with the retractable-roof venue providing the setting for one of the most anticipated heavyweight fights of recent years.

The announcement brings an end to a complicated period of negotiations. Several locations had been considered, including venues in the United States and London, before Cardiff emerged as the final destination.

The stadium's ability to operate regardless of weather conditions was one factor in its appeal, while its scheduling flexibility also suited the organisers' plans for a global Netflix audience.

A late start is expected to be considered so that the main event can reach viewers in the United States during a more favourable evening time slot. However, an official ring-walk time has not yet been announced.

The fight is being promoted as the meeting of two of Britain's biggest heavyweight stars. Fury and Joshua have held multiple world titles during careers that have largely overlapped, yet they have never faced one another professionally.

Both men have already secured victories in 2026. Joshua defeated Kristian Prenga in July, while Fury also returned to the ring in July, beating Mariusz Wach.

The bout will be available globally on Netflix at no additional cost to subscribers, according to the streaming platform's official announcement.

Turki Al-Sheikh described the contest as one that had taken years to make, while confirming that the fight would finally take place in the United Kingdom.

Fury and Joshua are scheduled to meet at a press conference in London on September 30 as the promotional build-up begins.

After years of failed negotiations, changing venues and repeated delays, the two former heavyweight champions now have a date, a venue and a confirmed broadcaster.

December 11 in Cardiff will finally bring Fury and Joshua together for their first professional meeting.
