Yves Bissouma has completed his move to Ajax after leaving Tottenham as a free agent this summer. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has signed an initial deal running until the end of the season, with the option of a further 12 months, and travelled to Amsterdam to finalise the switch to the Eredivisie club.
Bissouma had been without a club since his release from Spurs in June, following 111 appearances for the north London side after joining from Brighton in 2022 in a high-profile move. His final season at Tottenham was a difficult one, limited to just 11 Premier League appearances as the club finished 17th in the table for a second consecutive year.
His time at Spurs had also been marked by disciplinary issues, most notably in August 2025, when then-manager Thomas Frank left him out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup tie against Paris Saint-Germain due to persistent lateness.
The Mali international now begins a new chapter in the Netherlands, where Ajax will be hoping his experience adds fresh depth and physicality to their midfield as they compete on multiple fronts this season.
