Cole Palmer has committed his future to Chelsea until 2034 after signing a new contract on improved terms, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge by another year.
The England international, 24, was already under contract until 2033 following an extension signed in August 2024. Chelsea have now rewarded his importance to the team with another deal as they look to maintain their core squad for the coming seasons.
Palmer said he was delighted to sign the agreement and believes Chelsea are moving in the right direction. He explained that discussions with the club's owners, sporting directors, manager and teammates had strengthened his confidence in their plans.
The forward also made clear that he wants to help Chelsea win major trophies regularly and play a significant role in their success.
Since arriving from Manchester City in September 2023 for a reported £42.5 million, Palmer has developed into one of Chelsea's most influential attacking players. He has registered 91 goal contributions in 138 appearances, helping the club win the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup.
His renewal continues Chelsea's policy of securing key players on long-term contracts. João Pedro has also agreed to remain at the club until 2034, while Pedro Neto recently signed a new six-year deal.
Palmer has started the 2026–27 campaign strongly, recording four goals and two assists in his opening seven matches. His form has improved after a difficult previous season, when a persistent groin problem affected his availability and performances.
His close friendship with new teammate Morgan Rogers has also attracted attention. The pair have reunited at Chelsea following Rogers' summer move from Aston Villa, with manager Xabi Alonso looking to make the most of their attacking partnership.
Palmer recently missed England duty because of his groin problem, prompting discussion about his fitness and international availability. England manager Thomas Tuchel expressed frustration over his repeated absences, but Alonso stressed that Palmer remains committed to representing his country.
Alonso said the forward had trained during the week and was feeling better, while emphasising that Chelsea did not want to rush his recovery. Palmer was therefore in contention for the Premier League meeting with Bournemouth.
Chelsea entered the weekend sitting 10th in the table after a difficult start defensively. Keeping Palmer fit and productive will be important as Alonso looks to improve the team's results and turn their attacking quality into a more consistent challenge for silverware.
